Well folks, I wrote the article and silly me, inadvertantly deleted it! Anyhow I just wondered how you would all feel with regards to the church having a Committee/Helpers Group, to serve the church for a twelve month period. The best way of doing this is to put yourself forward, and we could let the congregation vote for you - just a thought. The positions of President, Vice President and Sec/Treasurer are unattainable as per our constitution. We have seven Trustee's of the church, for the purpose of our Charity status. However, it seems that the running of the church comes down to a small handful of people, as has been the case this last three weeks whilst I have been ill with bronchitis and a severe ear infection. However, an ideal would be to have the church open as much as possible during the day, to ensure we don't miss out on new and would be gongregationalists! I think maybe a Rota would be a good idea, as there could be more than one person in any one position (two perhaps), which may very well help take the strain off the 'few' and ensure the church runs as smoothly as possible. Anyhow, just wondered what your thoughts and ideas are on this situation. | |

Good idea-perhaps people would love to help but are afraid to ask and wonder how much involvement they would need to have? We certainly need more hands on deck especially on service days and daytime in the week. Also when we are running an event.
